Alternate Procurement
We have pioneered international project development trends in Africa by offering the traditional building market (including industrial, retail, residential, office accommodation, hotels etc.) alternative procurement options. These options include turnkey construction (design & build), equity participation (co-development) and early contractor engagement (buildability) whereby we work in close partnership with the consulting team and client to ensure the buildability of all elements of a project.
All three alternative procurement scenarios offer attractive benefits to investors, developers, clients, and consultants as they explore innovative solutions to ensure that a project is delivered cost effectively, safely, on time and to the required specification and scope.

Park Square
The landmark green-star rated, mixed-use development Park Square situated in the heart of Umhlanga Ridge was constructed by the Stefanutti Stocks Building Discipline, as the main contractor for Nedbank CIB Property Finance KZN – Corp & Invest Banking. This retail and office development was constructed between November 2016 and September 2018.
Mercedes Benz South Africa (MBSA)
The Stefanutti Stocks Building Discipline undertook four fast-track turnkey design and build projects (as lead contractor in joint ventures) for Mercedes Benz South Africa (MBSA) in East London, between October 2017 and December 2019.
Newlands Cricket Ground Development Project
The award-winning Newlands Cricket Ground Development project in the Western Cape was constructed by the Stefanutti Stocks Building Discipline between Feb 2019 and March 2022.
iThemba LABS
The multidisciplinary building and services infrastructure project for the installation and operation of the new 70MeV Cyclotron unit at iThemba LABS facility in the Western Cape is being constructed by the Stefanutti Stocks Building Discipline. Construction commenced in June 2021, with completion expected at the of 2022.
Ridgeway Hotel Refurbishment
The Ridgeway Hotel Refurbishment in Lusaka was undertaken by Stefanutti Stocks Zambia for Southern Sun Hotels. The contract was undertaken between January 2019 and September 2019.
National Milling Company (NMC)
The National Milling Company (NMC) in Zambia awarded multidisciplinary, general contracting company Stefanutti Stocks Zambia with both the bulk earthworks- and the building contracts for the construction of a new NMC mill on Lilayi Farm in Lusaka, in Zambia’s Central Province. The bulk earthworks were undertaken between May 2017 and November 2017. The building contract ran between August 2018 and July 2019.
The Horizon
The iconic The Horizon construction project in Maputo, was undertaken by SS Construções (Moçambique) for Fenix Projectos e Investimentos Lda between August 2013 and October 2016.
Stay Easy Hotel
The 125-room Stay Easy Hotel in Maputo was constructed by SS Construções (Moçambique) for Tsogo Sun between April 2017 and April 2018.
VBC Energy Towers
The construction of the VBC Energy Towers in Maputo, was undertaken by SS Construções (Moçambique) for VBC, Limitada between March 2020 and June 2021.
Baia Mall
The prestigious Baia Mall construction project in Maputo, was undertaken by SS Construções (Moçambique) for Baia Mall: Autódromo-Gestão Imobiliária SARL (AGIL) consortium between May 2016 and November 2017.
