committed to the
highest standards of SHEQ

SHEQ

The Stefanutti Stocks group implements and maintains SHEQ management systems that fulfil the requirements of industry standards. We proactively foster a safe working environment and our stringent commitment to improving safety standards is demonstrated by our Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR).

Our commitment to zero harm in the work place forms an integral part of the Stefanutti Stocks value system. We regularly implement awareness initiatives including preventative and training programmes, to ensure safety is always top of mind. Our outstanding performance within the SHEQ sphere is recognised annually by the numerous industry association awards that we receive.

excellence in execution

Occupational Health & Safety

Sizimisele_Environmental_Plant Yard010

In the spirit of the Founder Mentality principles our group has adopted the slogan “I will not walk past”. This behaviour-based approach encourages empowered employees to take ownership of, and responsibility for, health and safety at the workplace. This approach sees management focus on leadership engagements (LE) and visible felt leadership (VFL), while site operational staff focus on-site safety observations (SSO). There has been a significant reduction in injuries compared with the years prior to our adopting the slogan.

Environmental Management

One of our recent engineering milestone is the completion of an onboard engine filtration study, which achieved oil drain interval optimisation. This was achieved by doubling the filtration service life on our fleet of Komatsu HD 465 rigid dump trucks, which enhanced environmental performance and operational efficiencies.

Read Case Study

Stefanutti Stocks embraces, and is positioning its business at the forefront of the movement towards a more sustainable, more environmentally friendly construction industry. The disciplines within our group benefit from the work of our environmental forum, that has previously defined six key areas most significant to our operations. These include our carbon emissions, energy, materials, waste, water and credible information. These key areas inform the group’s approach to environmental risk and guide the implementation of preventive measures and controls to reduce environmental harm

Quality Management

Stefanutti Stocks’ management and construction teams are focused on Excellence in Execution, and our commitment to achieving this is reflected by the fact that these three words make up our mission statement. In addition to maintaining our reputation for delivering quality on every contract, it is important for us to “do it right the first time” as repeat work reduces already tight profit margins.

The group’s Quality Forum’s philosophy of planning and quantifying risks associated with our operations is embedded in the Excellence in Execution mission statement and forms the key pillars of the ISO 9001:2015 standard. As an ISO certified company, we subscribe to these aspects and will strive to achieve them across all of the group’s operations.
